Drama Llama Knitting Company produces handspun and Hand-dyed yarns, as well as knitting accessories and patterns.

Our dream: By moving towards selling yarn from local-ish, ethically sourced fiber, we hope you bring your sweater a little bit closer (figuratively speaking) to the sheep it came from. (Or alpaca, or goat, or bundle of flax!)

For those about to craft, we salute you.

Fun with dyeing! Lots of wool that’s going to be plyed with hand-combed llama.

I keep having this absolutely horrific desire to buy a great deal of inexpensive yarn in bright colors to feed my new crochet habit.

Bad idea, brain. Chill.

I’ve got some spare merino roving though, maybe I can dye a rainbow and spin myself a stash.

I love skeins with bright saturated colors, that have a bit of white mixed throughout.

Holy shit! I bow at the feet of whoever dyed this, for I am not worthy.

Did some dyeing yesterday, to get back into the swing of things, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

The wool is Canadian-grown Scottish Blackface. It’s a hard-wearing long wool.

I love the color - it’s basically bio-luminescent. It reminds me of vintage jadeite housewares, strong plastic dishes similar to pyrex and bakelite.

So pretty! Can’t wait to spin it up.
